About
I am Dan, the man behind TallTales. I am excited about making films that people treasure and appreciate.
The first reaction I am hoping for from the couple after the delivery of my videos is a sense of joy that all those key moments were captured and can be savoured all over again.
However there is more to these videos than the initial reaction. I hope to get at something deeper about the couple, to reflect their personalities and their unique chemistry. I am motivated by the idea that the films that I am making now will be enjoyed for generations to come. Imagine being able to watch a video of your grandparents wedding and seeing all those characters and distant relations. These films are conversation pieces that will last for generations.
I have a lifelong interest in film and photography. I studied it to degree level in the UK and spent the last 10 years working in the fashion industry in London and Beijing.
Using everything I’ve learnt about cinematography and filmmaking throughout my years of working in fashion and advertising, and drawing upon my love of music and editing to create mood and story I believe I have a unique angle on how to capture a wedding film and deliver a finished product that will bring joy and pride for years to come.
Investment
All weddings are different and every couple has their preferences for the film they want. I spend the day shooting the best material I can find, searching for tender and hilarious moments and beautiful details. I can use this material to make various types of films.
On my website and socials you will see some films that are about 4-8 minutes in length. I also offer longer documentary films of the whole day and this can be about 30-60 minutes in length. It really all depends on the couple and on our deciding on what is the best way to document their particular day and story.
